South Tyneside Council
Outdoor LED Screen
South Tyneside Council wanted to explore the opportunity of installing outdoor digital signage that would provide a means of generating advertising income. They approached Beyond Digital to consult on the best approach to achieving this. A number of opportunities were investigated including roadside locations, roundabouts and footbridges.
Beyond Digital worked with an advertising partner to identify physical locations around the borough that would represent the most attractive sites for national, regional and local advertisers.
The most effective way to generate an attractive return on advertising was to install large format outdoor LED screens at two key locations;
Leam Lane (on the route of the Great North Run), presented an opportunity to install a double sided, pole mounted steel structure.
King Street (central pedestrianised town centre location), presented an opportunity to install two LED screens for community content.
Beyond Digital prepared an advertising proposal that demonstrated profit generation after the second year. Once the capital cost was covered, income was forecast until year 6.
Beyond Digital provided the full solution including consultancy, software, data integration, creative design, hardware, installation and ongoing support.
Leam Lane - North and South Bound
This superb double sided outdoor digital signage screen, sits in a dominant location on this busy link road, taking motorists between South Tyneside & Gateshead via the Felling Bypass, but also those heading to the Tyne Tunnel, A1 & A19.
Sitting just along from Whitemare Pool Services, it is also in close proximity to key businesses in the area.
